February Newsletter

Well January has come and gone, and a lot of the kiddies are either at a new year of school, or about to go. We've had plenty to occupy us during this past month, not all of it good, so I hope that everyone has been able to find a bit of balance. Those that have endured the recent floods, know someone that has, or has felt personal unrest for those in Queensland, I hope we can all find the strength to pull together and do that great Aussie Spirit justice by supporting each other and getting through these difficult and tragic times.

On the brighter side, Scrapville has seen a few changes in the past months as well with the Creative Team introducing some new talent to the mix. Nikki and Sam are both very detailed scrappers, each with a flair and style that is inspiring and creative. I hope you will enjoy seeing their work as much as I do.

The close off for the Jan/Feb Sketch is Midnight on the 14th February, so all you die hard romantics make sure you get your challenges in before you get swept off your feet and carried away. As the Winner of the Sketch Layout Challenge you will receive a Scrapville $20.00 Prize Voucher. Winners from the previous month will be given one vote in the next Sketch Challenge as part of their prize. So be sure to get your Challenges in before the Pumpkin strikes at Midnight on the 14th!!

The February Monthly Pack has been uploaded to the Blog, and there you will find all the patterns and colours needed to compliment your photos from previous or upcoming Romantic Interludes..... either way this pack is just really rich in pinks, reds, whites and black. This colourful and strikingly packaged CRUSH range from BoBunny will give you plenty of scope to work with. These papers are so nicely co-ordinated on both sides of the page that you won’t be disappointed. Included in this pack is 2 sheets of cardstock, DS patterned papers, buttons, matching ruffle trim, black tulle, strips of crystal and ruby bling, tiny cardstock alphas from Adornit, and some matching grosgrain ribbon.

As always, we have a nicely bundled Booster which includes a pack of Bubblegum Glitter alpha Thickers, a strip of crystal flower bling, Grosgrain ribbon and another matching cardstock. All those wanting to purchase the Booster will find it great value for money, but can only do so by purchasing the Monthly Pack. Pop into the store to check out the Creative Team samples.

You have until the 28th of February to enter the challenge for a chance to win the $20.00 Scrapville Prize Voucher. Make sure your Layout is completed using only the Monthly Pack and/or Booster Pack products. You may also use techniques such as stamping, inking, sewing, distressing, painting, embossing, or use your Imaginisce i-Top. If you have any further queries, just

To kick off the arrival of our newest addition to Scrapville, our delightfully colourful Ciao Copic Markers have featured in a Demonstration Day at Scrapville on Saturday, 29th January. If you were lucky enough to attend you will have seen the basics first hand as the girls demonstrated how the Markers are best used, what you should use them with, and what they don’t like! The Card samples on display are an excellent example of what your finished projects will resemble.

There will be a lot happening in Scrapville's CopicVille World in the near future, we will be introducing the most gorgeous stamps to compliment the use of these markers, all the accessories, and a great team of supporters. You will also benefit from the purchase of your own starter kit when you sign up for Scrapville’s CopicVille Kit Club. Membership details will be announced the following month when the starter kits are due to arrive. Further details will be posted at PEEKVILLE on the Blog.

How quilled………. I mean thrilled.. were the Scrapville girls when they were demonstrating the quilling techniques on Demonstration Day? Heaps People! You got a hands on display using the Cuttlebug and the the Quilled Flower Dies, and were then shown the technique used to assemble your very own Daisy, Chrysanthemum and Roses for your projects. You just might need to take a little peek behind the counter at Scrapville to see what the girls have been busy making.

Thank you to Nikki and Michelle for their helpful demonstrations, assistance and advice to the girls who came to see how the Copic Markers and Quilling Dies are used. Feedback has been wonderful, and I can't wait for the Copic Kit Club to start in March!
Thank you also to Allana for helping out whilst I was away for the day.

The Do-Crafts range of products is on the shelf, and it won’t be long before the next issue arrives. Start with the Do-Crafts magazine, jam packed full of ideas and samples, and such a bargain for just $5.00. If you are a card maker you are going to LOVE this magazine, which is full of instructions for all the projects as well. There is so much variety with each issue of new ranges you will be pleasantly surprised!
WanderVille has re-commenced on Wednesday afternoons from 1pm to 4pm. Wander on in for some time out from the MenFolk and the Little People, and spend a bit of time doing what you love!! Either way you are Welcome at Scrapville’s Wednesday WanderVille, for just $5.

Thank you to everyone who left a comment for the New Spontaneous Challenge Name. DebiJ was successful in Winning the $20 Prize Voucher for choosing the Name that will, throughout 2011, Spontaneously inspire, stimulate and captivate an extension of YOUR Creativity when there is a ScrapBurst Challenge.

Please keep your curiosity posted as I will be introducing several ScrapBurst Challenges at different times throughout the year.

The next CropVille will be held on Saturday, 5th February at 7pm. If you don’t have time during the day to avoid the MenFolk or the Little People, make your escape at night!! It’s also an opportunity to finish off that Sketch for the January/February Challenge that is due in by Midnight on the 14th, or to have a go at the BoBunny Crush Monthly Pack!!

The Scrapville Blind CropVille has entered into a new year with Sally stepping into the role with plenty of designer prowess and challenging techniques for you to play with. We hope you will enjoy the wonderful classes planned for the rest of this year, and find time to join in with the excitement at an afternoon or evening Blind CropVille along the way. The first Blind CropVille was a lot of fun, and saw the girls using a variety of techniques to make organza and origami flowers. The layouts looked stunning, and the girls had a great time getting their layouts close to resembling the Master Layout, which was prepared by Sally. A big thank you to Sally for putting up a great class.

The next Blind CropVille is on Saturday, 26th February. The afternoon class commences at 2pm, and there are only 3 places available. The evening class commences at 7pm, and currently there are 5 places available.
Please remember that Bookings cannot be held without a Deposit.

An update will be posted to the Blog shortly with all the re-stocked items and new stock orders. With everyone getting back into the swing of things and the current CHA in the States there will be plenty of new release items hitting the shores soon.
