Monthly Sketch Challenges
The August/September Sketch Challenge is up and running, and your challenge entries expire Pumpkin Time September 14th. Have a look at the great Sketch designs Anita has put up for the Layout and Card challenges and give it a go.

Creative Team Guest Announcement
Now this is exciting news, I'd like to announce a new Guest to the Creative Team. With Claire on a family holiday overseas for a while, we have taken the opportunity to add a Guest into the mix in her absence. I would like to welcome Jennie Seal to our Team of creative girls. To learn a little more about Jennie, please read on.
Jennie Seal - Creative Team Guest August/September
And here's a few things Jennie would like to tell you all about herself.
Where do you live?
Wodonga, Victoria.
How long have you been scrapping?
About two and a half years now.
Where do you scrap?
At Scrapville, Wodonga.
What colours do you like to work with?
All colours, I love brights and I love the olde world antique colours.
What is your favourite products/patterned papers?
Lately I am venturing into masking and gesso. I'm having great fun with it too!
My favourite patterned papers are anything I can fussy cut!
What is your favourite style?
Anything really, I just like to try new things.
The people I love to scrap most are:
My family, and our pet dog Lilli.
What excites you about being a Guest Creative Team Member with Scrapville?
It is an exciting challenge for me personally. I just LOVE scrapbooking.

Blind CropVille
The August BCV was all about the cardstock!  I guess you had to be there!  The girls had a variety of gorgeous photos to scrap, and the layout became more and more interesting as they layered each step.  The results were lovely, with the layouts displayed proudly in the Scrapville Window of Fame at the shop!

I have decided not to run Blind CropVille in September as it is too close to Retreat.  I will still be holding our Retreat Blind Cropville for the girls, so that should be lots of fun with Sally doing that one.  The next Blind Cropville in the shop will be in October.

CropVille
The next CropVilles, numbers permitting, are on Friday, 17th August and Saturday, 25th August 7pm to 11.30pm.  Please ensure you book in advance.  You are welcome to scrap or make cards, or work on off the page projects.  Bring a friend if you like, and have a creative night out.

Challenge Winners
Please note that to be eligible for the challenges we must have a minimum or four (4) entries in each. Each challenge has criteria to meet, whether it is using the pack products, sticking to the design of the sketch, and using Scrapville products. It is difficult to support entries that use products that do not support retail selling.

All challenges are voted for by the Creative Team, outlining why they have chosen each winning entry. The Manager will make the deciding vote if there is a tie between the top two.
Anyone who wins a monthly challenge cannot win the following month’s challenge (to be fair to other entries) but are encouraged to enter their challenge creations.

The Monthly Pack winners (with the exception of September) will WIN the following months Monthly Pack.

The Sketch Challenge Winners will win a Prize Pack.

If you missed the announcements these were the last Challenge Winners:
August Monthly Pack: Delsie Mowbray – Tea with You
June/July Sketch Layout: Judy Laracy – Little Man
July/August Sketch Layout: Nicole McNamara - Picture Perfect.

Congratulations to all the winners, and thank you to everyone who entered the challenges.

RetreatVille 2012
Have you been to a Retreat before?
Do you like the idea of getting away with a group of girls to scrap/papercraft?
No cooking, driving kids around, ironing.........
We still have places available to meet our minimum requirements, so if you would like to attend to be a part of this event, come along and join us.  It's relaxing, fun, there are prizes, competitions if you want to join in, and wonderful company.  The shop comes along to help out with your supplies, and it's a short walk to your bed each night.

The dates for Retreat are Thursday 20th September to Sunday 23rd September.  We have relocated our Retreat to Kismet Riverside Lodge in Howlong, which has plenty of room, gardens, is beside the Murray River for a short walk if you choose, and Motel Accomodation.
We have options to attend either 3 Nights /4 Days (Thurs to Sun) or 2 Nights / 3 Days (Fri to Sun). For further inquiries please email Janet, phone or call into the store.

ScrapBursts
With Retreat approaching rather quickly I have decided to open up the ScrapBursts for September, which really isn't a bad option considering there'll be FOUR Prizes to give away instead of just ONE!  Start getting excited everyone, I'll release the list just prior to the end of August.

Classes
You can check out the Class List and in-store samples for the August and September layout classes. You will need to book as classes can only run if we meet minimum number requirements.  September will be a little light on due to the Retreat, but this may change if we slot in extra classes.
**Anyone interested in Teaching Classes at Scrapville can contact Janet at scrapville@iinet.net.au to make enquiries.

Watt's What?

Watt's New?
Ezy Pzy Kits.  Nice and Ezy, these kits have been put together to take the work out of finding putting your papers together.  They are co-ordinated patterned papers, 4-6 sheets, so you only need to find the colour you want to use. Some have cardstock, alphas, ribbons, rub ons, Thickers or stickers as well.  You'll need to look through each one to choose the right one for you.  Great value too at just $10.

Watt's That? - Prima?
Anyone with a love of all things Prima will be excited to know that they are heading back DownUnder. There will be four (4) international tutors heading our way in November of this year, and they will be conducting a variety of fabulous workshops. Scrapville will be offering classes through our shop-front store, and are very excited to be a part of the Prima tour in Australia. If you are interested in attending a Prima Workshop, please email Janet with your details, or call into the store for further information. At this stage interest in attendance will determine how many classes we can do. The class kits will be packed with goodies, and new product will also be available on the day. Deposits will be required, and class numbers will be limited to tutor requirements. Don't miss out; they don't come around too often!
