January 2011 Newsletter

Happy New Year Everyone!! Welcome to the start of another fun filled and exciting year at Scrapville.

The close off for the Dec/Jan Sketch is Midnight on the 14th January. Be sure to get a bit of “you time” so that your challenges are in on time. Melinda has put up another wonderful Sketch for your Cards and Layouts, and is keen to see what you come up with. As the Winner of the Sketch Layout Challenge you will receive a Scrapville $20.00 Prize Voucher. Each Sketch Winner from the previous month will also be involved in choosing a winner, and is awarded one vote as part of their prize. The New winner will be given the vote for the following month, along with their $20.00 Prize Voucher. What an easy way to get a few extra special bits of scrappy goodness for your stash!

MONTHLY PACK CHALLENGE We have uploaded the January Monthly Pack to the Blog, and there you will find a very colourful and brightly packaged Little Boy range from Echo Park. Becoming quite the favorite amongst scrappers alike, these papers are so nicely co-ordinated on both sides of the page that you won’t be disappointed. Included is a full sheet of 12x12 Cardstock stickers that are so versatile, cardstock and patterned papers, some matching hessian and a spray of buttons, added bling and some matching ribbon.

As always, we have a nicely bundled Booster which includes a 6"x12" strip of Imaginisce Rub-ons, an Imaginise clear stamp and another matching cardstock. All those wanting to purchase the Booster will find it great value for money, but can only do so by purchasing the Monthly Pack. Don't be fooled though, this range is not just for the Boys!! Tempted to try? Put your creativity to the test and lets all see what you can come up with. Pop into the store to check out the Creative Team samples.

You have until the 31st of January to enter the challenge for a chance to win an i-Rock Prize Pack! Make sure your Layout is completed using only the Monthly Pack and/or Booster Pack products – the only exception this month is that you may use your choice of Alphas for your Title. You may also use techniques such as stamping, inking, distressing, painting, embossing, or use your Imaginisce i-Top. If you have any further queries, just email Janet.

To kick off the arrival of our newest addition to Scrapville, our delightfully colourful Ciao Copic Markers will feature in a Demonstration Day at Scrapville on Saturday, 29th January commencing 10.30am. Here you will get to see the basics first hand as we demonstrate how the Markers are best used, what you should use them with, and what they don’t like! We will have Card samples on display so that you can see the completed results. (Also be sure to see the gorgeous cards on display behind the front counter at Scrapville).

There will be a lot happening in Scrapville's CopicVille World in the near future, we will be introducing the most gorgeous stamps to compliment the use of these markers, all the accessories, and a great team of supporters.

You will also benefit from the purchase of your own starter kit when you sign up for Scrapville’s CopicVille Kit Club. Membership details will be announced the following month when the starter kits are due to arrive. Further details will be posted at PEEKVILLE on the Blog.

If you thought the Demo’s were over, you haven’t been listening! Scrapville is quilled………. I mean thrilled.. to offer quilling techniques on Demonstration Day. You will get a hands on display of how to use the Quilled Flower technique by using the Daisy, Chrysanthemum and Rose die cuts. You just might need to take a little peek behind the counter at Scrapville beforehand, where the girls have been busy making beautiful projects with their cutting dies. Be sure to pop on into Scrapville and get a double dose of Demo’s as we team this thrilling little technique event alongside the CopicVille demonstration on Saturday, 29th January commencing 12.30am! Further details will be posted at PEEKVILLE on the Blog.

The Do-Crafts range of products is almost on the shelf. Start with the Do-Crafts magazine, jam packed full of ideas and samples. This copy comes with a set of very cute clear stamps, and such a bargain for just $5.00. If you are a card maker you are going to LOVE this magazine, which is full of instructions for all the projects as well. There is so much variety with this range you will be pleasantly surprised!

The Paper Christmas Wreath class will be running at different times throughout the year. This will give everyone a chance to complete their Wreaths in plenty of time for Christmas 2011, so if you missed out previously keep an eye on the Class Lists at PEEKVILLE.

The Wednesday WanderVille's will re-commence on the afternoon of 19th January from 1pm to 4pm. Wander on in for some time out from the MenFolk and the Little People, and spend a bit of time doing what you love!! Either way you are Welcome at Scrapville’s Wednesday WanderVille.

As an added BONUS to this particular Challenge I am offering a $20.00 Scrapville Voucher to the person who can come up with a “Name” for my Spontaneous Challenge! Do bear in mind my current theme though……

I will announce the Winner on 31st January.

The first CropVille for 2011 will be held on Friday, 14th January at 7pm. If you don’t have time during the day to avoid the MenFolk or the Little People, make your escape at night!! It’s also an opportunity to finish off that Sketch for the December/January Challenge that is due in by Midnight on the 14th!!
