NOVEMBER NEWSLETTER

Hello everyone, and welcome to Scrapville's November Newsletter. Here we are at the other end of the yearly calendar, and I am still trying to get my head around where the rest of this year has gone!  As a positive reflection though, we have seen lots of inspiration pass through the doors of Scrapville, both physically and in the cyber world!  We have shared with you new Creative Team Members and their talents, watched the changing technique and style of some newer scrappers grow, and introduced some challenging and imaginative classes.  At this point of the year I hope it has been as fulfilling for you as it has for myself and the Team at Scrapville.

SKETCH CHALLENGES
Well our October/November Sketch Challenge still has two weeks to go before Pumpkin Time, so jump on board people and get yours in. You're going to need the extra time for other things this month........

NOVEMBER MONTHLY PACK

Our November Monthly Pack is due out at the end of this week, so keep tuned for the Creative Team updates, and see how these talented people have used their packs.  Using Little Black Dress from Basic Grey,  I am sure the girls will be inspiring you to grab a pack yourself and start creating. These are great papers to work with, so I hope you can get your Challenge Pack in.

If you want to be in the running for a prize pack, pick up your Monthly Pack and start creating.  You must use only the products in the pack, but you may use techniques such as inking, painting, stitching, Glimmer Misting etc, and be sure to have your Layout in by Midnight on 30th November.

SCRAPBURSTS!!
For the month of November we are going to be running with 4 ScrapBursts, so dig deep and get into that stash, pop into Scrapville and top up your supplies, and lets find that mojo to get your creativity flowing.  Now here they are:
#1 - METALS
This layout is to incorporate Metals - this can be embellishments, metal foil, charms - as long as there is a healthy balance of these it'll be ok.
#2 - STITCHING
Ah Ha - and it can be by hand or machine, as long as we have at least 25% of stitching used on your layout, which is more than just the border girls, so get creative!
#3 - NUMBERS
Ok, following the list you will need to have ALL of the following incorporated into your layout:
1 x bling shape/pattern/word
2 x photos
3 x frames
4 x patterned papers
5 x brads
#4 - EMBOSSED PAPER
This layout is to incorporate Embossed Papers, whether you add them or emboss your own.  Your layout must include at least 1/3 of EMBOSSED paper/s.

You will have until 30th November to complete your challenges. Only one layout will be accepted for each ScrapBurst. There will be a Prize Pack up for grabs in each ScrapBurst with the winners being selected by the Creative Team.  An announcement will declare the winners on 2nd December. Good luck everyone!

BLIND CROPVILLE
The November Blind CropVille will be run at Ruby's in Myrtleford on Thursday 17th November commencing 7pm. You can book at Scrapville, or at Ruby's.

The Scrapville BCV classes will be run on Saturday 19th November at 2pm and at 7pm. Bookings & deposit are essential.

For those that would like to attend the Blind CropVille but are not sure of the skill requirements, please speak to Janet.  You will get to try out a few new techniques (and even a few older ones you may have forgotten about), and that will just add to the excitement of the class. Interpretation is the key to each instruction given in these classes.  Come along and try out a class, I'm sure you'll be happy with what you accomplish.

WANDERVILLE
Regular Wednesday afternoons are still set aside for WanderVille at Scrapville.  Here you can "Wander on in" to Scrapville and scrap, make your cards, finish off those Christmas cards, or look for a bit of inspiration for that next project. You can also use the time to do a catch-up class, so long as prior arrangements have been made. If you would like to tackle a challenge or two, pick up some ideas or get a little help making a start on that special project, we at Scrapville are happy to assist you when requested. And of course you can also enjoy a coffee or tea in the meantime, and find everything else you need to get it all done.  I'm still hoping you might get one in before the silly season sets in......

CLASSES

The Class Lists are now up on the "Newsletter & Classes Blog" for October, November & December Classes. The Flower Technique Classes were a great success, and have been put up again with an advanced 5th Class that the girls have been working on. We will be doing the Paper Christmas Wreath class again, with 2 classes already done, so if you missed out last year you'd better get in early.

OCTOBER NEWSLETTER

Hello everyone, and welcome to Scrapville's October Newsletter. We have now moved past our busy time with RetreatVille now over for another year. With the body clock jumping into a new timezone, we are also gearing up for the start of the last Class List for the remainder of the year.

SKETCH CHALLENGES

Our September/October Sketch Challenge has less than a week left before Pumpkin Time, so jump on board people and get yours in. With the new Sketch is a Tag Card, which I'm hoping a few more people will have a go at.

OCTOBER MONTHLY PACK

Our October Monthly Pack will be out next week due to a few delays with CHAS orders, so keep tuned for that. For those that Subscribe to the Monthly Packs, these will be held for you at Scrapville unless otherwise advised.

DOCRAFTS
The next DoCrafts Mag and stock items will be in-store in the next few days.

CROPVILLE
This month's Blind CropVille will be run at Ruby's in Myrtleford on Thursday 20th October commencing 7pm. You can book here at Scrapville, or at Ruby's.

The Scrapville BCV will be run on Saturday 22nd October at 2pm and at 7pm. Bookings are essential, as is the deposit.

For those that find the Blind CropVille a little daunting, please speak to Janet so that you can ascertain the required level of skill or technique required for each class. You will get to try a few new techniques (and even a few older ones you'd forgotten about), and that just adds to the excitement.  Interpretation is the key to each instruction given in these classes, and this is what makes the layout more individual. We do not expect the layouts to be exact replica's of the Master Layout at the end, because we know that everyone has a different take on how the instructions are understood. Come along and enjoy a class and I'm sure you'll be happy with what you've accomplished.

WANDERVILLE
We have a regular Wednesday afternoon set aside for WanderVille, where you can come into the workshop at Scrapville and scrap, make your cards, get on top of those Christmas cards now, or look for inspiration for that next project. I'm still hoping you might......

CLASSES

We are just about ready to put up the Classes for the October & November Class Lists. The Flower Technique Classes were a great successful, and will be put up again with the advanced 5th Class that the girls have been working on. There will be another Christmas Wreath class, so if you missed out last year you'd better get in early.

Anyone wanting to do MakeUp or Repeat Classes will need to check the Class List for new times. You can also find these uploaded to the Newsletter Blog shortly.

The Monthly Copic Club is going along well, and the girls have been producing some beautiful cards at Show and Tell. With the last class held out at Retreat, the girls were able to sneak a peek at their work.

The next Copic Club Class will be held in November, with the girls getting to try out a few more techniques to add to their styles. Once we have finished with the First Copic Club we will look at running the 2nd Copic Club Classes in 2012. If you feel you would like to learn how to use these Markers to their full potential, please make enquiries instore - it really does make a difference to your colouring.

KIDSVILLE CLASSES
The last of the KidsVille Classes were run this THURSDAY of the school holidays. There were an enthusiastic young group in attendance, and I must say mums, these kids will always know what THEY want!  What we start with and what we end up with could well be two entirely different designs, but as long as the little people are happy with their layouts, (and I can get reasonably close to the mark...) we're all happy!

Here are some photos of the Little People's classes:

This is the layout design used for the last class.  I will upload a photo of the girls work shortly.
Anyone interested in doing a KidsVille Class on a Saturday will need a minimum number of four to run. If you would like to leave your details on a waiting list, please see Janet and I will let you know when it will be running.

CRICUT EXPRESSION SPECIAL

Laybuy is available (*Terms and Conditions apply), and the Sale Price is for a limited time only. Included in the price is 3 new Cartridges, and a new 12x12 Mat.

RETREATVILLE
Well we're done and dusted for another year.  RetreatVille was a lot of fun, very relaxing, and we had a great group of ladies to boot!  In amongst the normalities of retreat we had our Copic Club Class, a Girls Night In, a wonderful raffle filled with scrappy goodness, an invitation Crop, Spot Prizes, a Blind Crop and a Stitching Class that Heather ran before the Girls Night In commenced.  The layouts were all beautiful, so lucky were those that were stitched up with Heather!  The food was magnificent, and the ambiance of the group a pleasure - I can't wait for next year!  (.....don't tell Lui..... again!)  Thanks to everyone that attended and made it such an enjoyable (and entertaining) pleasure, and I love all my little thank-you tags!

The date is already set for 2012, and we will do what it takes to make it even better!  Lock it in people, September 20th to 23rd 2012.  I will be sending out an information email to all 2011 attendees shortly with new information regarding bookings.

SEPTEMBER NEWSLETTER

Hello everyone, and welcome to Scrapville's September Newsletter. Out a little later than I'd like, but our Newsletter is still a must!

The end of the August/September Sketch Challenge has expired with Pumpkin Time, and we now have our September/October Sketch Challenges up.  Don't forget to get yours in before the next Pumpkin Time on October 14th.

The Layout Sketch
 The Card Sketch - Tag
You can use this Sketch to design a single Tag, or make an opening Tag Card.  Either is fine.

SEPTEMBER MONTHLY PACK

This month we have deferred our Monthly Pack due to a bit of Scrapville illness and preparations for the upcoming Scrapville Retreat. Apologies to those that will miss out this month, and we look forward to bringing you something exciting for the October Pack.

BLIND CROPVILLE
A little earlier than expected we have this month's Blind CropVille. Brought forward so as not to clash with RetreatVille, this class used lovely co-ordinated summery colours to tie in with a Father's Day theme. Lots of white space, which was challenging for some, a bit of bunting added in, some "light sewing", a bit of embossing with the Sizzix Texture Boutique and the Epic 6, and a fair bit of mounting up and inking.
My Dad by Sally Clark (CT)

I would like to thank Sally for her hard work putting these classes together during the 2011 year.  It's great to see such lovely outcomes.

Blind CropVille can be a little daunting for some, but the fact is you will get to try a few new techniques (and even a few older ones you'd forgotten about), and that just adds to the excitement.  When you do a class where your interpretation is the key to each instruction given, this is what makes the layout more individual.   We do not expect the layouts to be exact replica's of the Master Layout at the end, we just want you to enjoy the class and be happy with what you've accomplished.

EXTRA CLASSES
The next Blind CropVille in Myrtleford will be held on Thursday 20th October, at Ruby's Patchwork commencing 7pm. A deposit will be required when booking, and this can be paid at Scrapville, or to Carolyn at Ruby's. Your requirements list will be emailed out the Thursday prior to your BCV, giving you the weekend to get organized.  Being privy to a sneak peek, you really don't want to miss this one girls!

WANDERVILLE
It's exactly what it says... wander on in!  We have a regular Wednesday afternoon set aside for WanderVille, where you can come into the workshop at Scrapville and scrap, make your cards or look for inspiration.

Wednesday, 14th September will be the LAST WANDERVILE for SEPTEMBER, after that, I'm still hoping you might......

CLASSES
We are just about winding up the Classes for the August & September Class Lists. The 4 Flower Technique Classes were very successful, and the girls are currently working on an advanced 5th Class.

Anyone wanting to do MakeUp Classes will be able to find these on the NEXT Class List.

Any NEW or Repeat Classes will be on the NEXT Class List, and also uploaded to the Newsletter Blog.

The Monthly Copic Club is going well, and the girls are producing some beautiful cards. We are coming up to our 3rd Month, and the girls are building on their Marker Stash and Techniques. I will be sharing some Show and Tell from the girls shortly.

The next Copic Club Class will be held out at RetreatVille, with the Class incorporating a Girls Night In Fundraiser for the Cancer Council, with Copic sponsoring some giveaway prizes. There will be other giveaways and games, so I hope those of you attending will get on-board this very worthy cause.
