January 2011 Newsletter

Happy New Year Everyone!! Welcome to the start of another fun filled and exciting year at Scrapville.

SKETCH CHALLENGE
The close off for the Dec/Jan Sketch is Midnight on the 14th January. Be sure to get a bit of “you time” so that your challenges are in on time. Melinda has put up another wonderful Sketch for your Cards and Layouts, and is keen to see what you come up with. As the Winner of the Sketch Layout Challenge you will receive a Scrapville $20.00 Prize Voucher. Each Sketch Winner from the previous month will also be involved in choosing a winner, and is awarded one vote as part of their prize. The New winner will be given the vote for the following month, along with their $20.00 Prize Voucher. What an easy way to get a few extra special bits of scrappy goodness for your stash!

MONTHLY PACK CHALLENGE We have uploaded the January Monthly Pack to the Blog, and there you will find a very colourful and brightly packaged Little Boy range from Echo Park. Becoming quite the favorite amongst scrappers alike, these papers are so nicely co-ordinated on both sides of the page that you won’t be disappointed. Included is a full sheet of 12x12 Cardstock stickers that are so versatile, cardstock and patterned papers, some matching hessian and a spray of buttons, added bling and some matching ribbon.

As always, we have a nicely bundled Booster which includes a 6"x12" strip of Imaginisce Rub-ons, an Imaginise clear stamp and another matching cardstock. All those wanting to purchase the Booster will find it great value for money, but can only do so by purchasing the Monthly Pack. Don't be fooled though, this range is not just for the Boys!! Tempted to try? Put your creativity to the test and lets all see what you can come up with. Pop into the store to check out the Creative Team samples.

You have until the 31st of January to enter the challenge for a chance to win an i-Rock Prize Pack! Make sure your Layout is completed using only the Monthly Pack and/or Booster Pack products – the only exception this month is that you may use your choice of Alphas for your Title. You may also use techniques such as stamping, inking, distressing, painting, embossing, or use your Imaginisce i-Top. If you have any further queries, just email Janet.

We will have Card samples on display so that you can see the completed results. (Also be sure to see the gorgeous cards on display behind the front counter at Scrapville).

There will be a lot happening in Scrapville's CopicVille World in the near future, we will be introducing the most gorgeous stamps to compliment the use of these markers, all the accessories, and a great team of supporters.

You will also benefit from the purchase of your own starter kit when you sign up for Scrapville’s CopicVille Kit Club. Membership details will be announced the following month when the starter kits are due to arrive. Further details will be posted at PEEKVILLE on the Blog.

You will get a hands on display of how to use the Quilled Flower technique by using the Daisy, Chrysanthemum and Rose die cuts. You just might need to take a little peek behind the counter at Scrapville beforehand, where the girls have been busy making beautiful projects with their cutting dies. Be sure to pop on into Scrapville and get a double dose of Demo’s as we team this thrilling little technique event alongside the CopicVille demonstration on Saturday, 29th January commencing 12.30am! KidsVille Holiday Classes

Hello to the Little People,
just a little reminder that we HAVE NOT forgotten you - KidsVille will be running on Tuesday and Thursday mornings throughout January, commencing Tuesday, 11th January.  If you would like your Little Person to receive a KidsVille Gift Voucher for the Classes, please contact Janet.  Mum, Dad, Nan, Pop or Aunty will need to book you in at Scrapville, or email Janet to confirm your spot and pay your $5 Deposit.

I will accept Little People from age 6 to age 15, competent in using the basic tools.  If you would like your Little People to book a class with their friends, then please give me a bit of notice so that I can group you with a more age specific arrangement.  The Little People can be dropped off 5 minutes before class and collected at the appropriate finishing time.

At this stage there will be an option to just scrap or do the class.  The class will be kitted up, so you don't need to choose anything.

You WILL, however, need to bring your basic tools:
  • scissors
  • trimmer
  • pencil & ruler
  • double sided tape
A class list will be put up to the Newsletter / Class List Blog as soon as I can confirm a couple more details, but I am happy for you to book in now to hold your spot.

See you Soon!

Janet
