AUGUST NEWSLETTER

Hello everyone, and welcome to the August Monthly Newsletter.  Is anyone else surprised at how fast this year is going?  Retreat is just around the corner, we are into another Monthly Pack, we have new classes and an extra venue, and a show or two to boot!  Wowsers!!

The Sketch Challenges seem to be luring the girls into new areas of technique, which is wonderful.  As an added bonus the Creative Team will be sharing the Monthly Sketch designing with yours truly.  This should bring out a bit more diversity and keep you intrigued with what to expect next!  Thanks girls for being involved with a bit more "behind the scenes" hands on!  And thank you to everyone for taking part in our Challenges, and helping to grow the passion at Scrapville. It really is great to see your creativity growing and being challenged each month, and even more exciting to have new scrappers coming on board to take part.

AUGUST MONTHLY PACK
JENNI BOWLIN – Haven

This range by Jenni Bowlin Studio is somewhat rustic and homely, and yet botanical at the same time.  A bit of musical inspiration, bold patterns and rustic colours will take you a step back from last month’s pack.  With a mix of ribbons and trims, mini alphas, a gorgeous black cameo chip shape and a sheet of music paper to tempt your imagination - who could resist!

KIDSVILLE CLASSES

If you have a group of Little Scrappy People, a minimum of 4 is all you need to make a booking for a KidsVille Class.  A suitable timeslot can be freed up for your group booking of 4 either after school or on a Saturday (dependant upon current classes).  If you would like to go onto a list, please call in or contact me for more details.  The Little People will need a basic starter kit of their own supplies, or you can purchase one of these in-store.  (scissors, ruler, pencil, trimmer, double sided tape, double sided foam mounting tape, glue)

BLIND CROPVILLE

Blind CropVille for July saw Sally put up another great layout, with the ladies kept busy punching, fussy cutting, machine stitching, distressing, rolling, quilling and layering. They did manage to fit in a cuppa as well!  This one really brought out a bit of the individual with many differences in the final layering. Well done to everyone who managed to squeeze in and participate, and thanks to Sally for putting the Master together and for keeping the girls curious!  You can check out the BCV layouts proudly displayed in Scrapville’s Window of Fame.

Due to the attendance numbers for the July Blind CropVille, it would be advisable to book early for the next one on August 20th to secure your place. Currently the EARLY BCV (2pm to 6pm) is FULL. There are still places available for the EVENING BCV (7pm to 11pm).

EXTRA CLASSES

The next Blind CropVille in Myrtleford will be held on Thursday, 18th August at Ruby's Patchwork commencing 7pm.  A deposit will be required when booking, and this can be paid at Scrapville, or to Carolyn at Ruby's.  Your requirements list will be emailed out the Thursday prior to your BCV, giving you the weekend to get organized.

I will also be running selected classes from Scrapville's current class lists, on a Thursday evening at Ruby's in Myrtleford. These will be advised in PEEKVILLE on the Blog once all details are confirmed.  Please contact Janet for further details.

WANDERVILLE

It's exactly what it says... wander on in! We have a regular Wednesday afternoon set aside for WanderVille, where you can come into the workshop at Scrapville and scrap, make your cards or look for inspiration. You can also use the time to do a catch-up class, so long as prior arrangements have been made.  If you would like to tackle a challenge or two, pick up some ideas or get a little help making a start on that special project, we at Scrapville are happy to assist you when requested.  And of course you can also enjoy a coffee or tea in the meantime, and find everything else you need to get it all done.  I'm still hoping you might......

CLASSES

Dates and Times have been set for the August & September Class Lists, and these can be found on the Newsletter Blog and at Scrapville. Currently running are: the Monthly Copic Club, 4 Flower Technique Classes, the Canvas Frame (decorated in beautifully quilled flowers & shapes), 2 Grunge Layouts, and repeat Blind Crop layout classes.  Another BYO Cricut Class will soon be announced, and more Cricut news shortly.  Another technique layout is on the way for those heritage photos, and another Flower Tech class is being prepared.  Stay tuned!

RETREATVILLE

Well, we are now under the two month mark until we wander off to a scrap-happy RetreatVille out at the beautiful Lake Hume Resort.  Lots of Scrapping, Card Making and Creating with a wonderful group of like minded ladies thriving for the day!  There are still a few places available, so if you’re interested in joining us please contact Janet for Registration and Payment Forms.

SUPPLIERS

Many shop front scrapping businesses have unfortunately closed due to the current economic climate and on-line pressures, with several Scrapville suppliers having also either closed or re-located.  Finding new suppliers for these products can often take time, so I ask that you bear with me if you notice your usual line of favorite products slowly dwindling, until such time as I can re-establish the line with another supplier.  I am happy to help out where I can, when I can.
