Hi everyone, and welcome to the July Monthly Newsletter. Things are really starting to get chilly here at Scrapville, and with lots of rain and snow about in the hills it's a great time to be indoors with your creativity flowing.... in the warm! Let’s not forget though, that it's often in these very circumstances that you can happen upon some very interesting photo opportunities, so maybe just a little of the outdoors...
The month of June saw the first of our ScrapBursts, with 4 separate challenges. The response to these challenges has really been great, and the Wall of Fame at Scrapville is full to the brim! We are very impressed with the variety of layouts, and the effort that everyone has taken in their creativity. As a result we have some giveaways for each challenge winner, but the task was not an easy one to make with so many great layouts to choose from.
#1 The Inspiration: My Beautiful Mum by Lauren Higgs
#2 The Numbers: Ahoy by Judy Laracy
#3 BLUE plus One: Splish Splash by Jennie Seal
#4 Perfect by PINK: Pretty, Pretty, Perfect by Deb Clark
Whilst we're doing giveaways, it's probably a good time to share the goodness a bit further! Therefore, I have a couple of prize packs that I would like to give away for the previous Monthly Pack and Sketch Challenges. .....fingers crossed............
Monthly Pack: Pure Joy by Roz Langridge
Sketch Challenge: Tucker Time by Belinda Nash
I would also like to extend a little "Honorable Mention" for one of our younger scrappers who has been taking part in the monthly challenges, and doing a great job!:
Honorable Mention: Sophie Cook
Thank you everyone for taking part in our Challenges, and helping to grow the passion at Scrapville. It is wonderful to see your creativity growing and changing each month, and even more exciting to have new scrappers coming on board to take part in the challenges.

BLIND CROPVILLE
The June BCV went very well, with a Wintery theme to it. After a play on the Cricut there were lots of snowflakes, and a task of masking and inking. We added a hidden photo and some journaling on this one, and the girls were keen to know that they could journal openly, and then hide it! You could say anything really......
Now displayed in the Scrapville Window of Fame amongst a display of glittery dangling snowflakes, I would once again like to thank Sally for her creativity in the BCV area, and for her co-operation in changing it up a notch! Team work.....
The July Blind CropVille is fast approaching, and the afternoon class is now FULL. The theme is set and the list is done, so if you're thinking about coming along I'll give you a head start and say..... "Red and Pink, single photo, and stuff...." Stuff like some hands on stuff. I'll let you think about that one! Be quick and book now for the evening class, don't be disappointed!
EXTRA CLASSES
Due to ongoing requests for extra classes, I will also be introducing a class for the Blind CropVille in Myrtleford each month. This will run in the evening, and open up the BCV to any scrappers interested in attending one of our most popular monthly classes. Numbers will be limited, and there will only be one BCV class each month.
I will also be running selected classes on a Thursday evening in Myrtleford, taken from Scrapville's current class lists. These will be advised in PEEKVILLE on the Blog once all details are confirmed. Please contact Janet for further details regarding bookings.
WANDERVILLE
It's exactly what it says... wander on in! We have a regular Wednesday afternoon set aside for WanderVille, where you can come into the workshop at Scrapville and scrap, make your cards or look for inspiration. You can use the time to get a challenge or two done, pick up some ideas or get a little help making a start on that special project you haven't been able to tackle lately. And of course you can also enjoy a coffee or tea in the meantime, and find everything else you need to get it all done. I'm still wondering when you might......
CLASSES
Dates and Times have been set for the next Class List, and can be found on the Newsletter Blog here, and in-store at Scrapville.

NEW MUMS
To all the New Mums out there who have new additions to their families, Congratulations one and all. I am counting ONE baby girl, and FOUR baby boys since I have been here at Scrapville, and it is wonderful meeting your new little scrapping subjects!! (...and thank you to the beautiful little baby boy who didn't puke until I handed him back to his mother...)
THANK YOU
I would like to take this moment to send a special “Thank You” out to my Creative Team girls. They put in lots of time and effort to support Scrapville’s many challenges and monthly projects, and are often met with demanding deadlines and schedules. Apart from this they are also behind the scene helping out with classes and kits, and working on ways to keep you all challenged and inspired. I am fortunate to have them all as part of the Team, and very thankful for their beautiful and talented work. Big Hugs Girls!!!
RETREATVILLE
With only two and a half months until RetreatVille, now is the time to make sure you are confirmed and on the list! If you have not already done so, please make arrangements to pay your Deposit. For those interested in attending, please contact me for Registration and Payment Forms. There is a lot to prepare for so your assistance would be helpful.
A LITTLE BIT OF RETREATVILLE EXCITEMENT - FROM SALLY CLARK (CT)
- Hi Everyone
Just wanted to let you all know that I am taking part in the Leukaemia Foundation's "World's Greatest Shave". I will be shaving my head on Saturday, 24th September whilst at The Scrapville RetreatVille Scrapbooking weekend.
You can check out my profile page by clicking on the link here
Please sponsor me by making an online donation using a credit card. My goal is to raise $3000.00 for the Leukaemia Foundation. The Leukaemia Foundation not only performs research but also provides practical support to patients during their long and tough treatment.
Here are some very interesting facts:
- Every hour of every day, at least one person in Australia is diagnosed with leukaemia, lymphoma or myeloma.
- Every two hours, someone loses their life to blood cancer.
- $26 can provide emotional support to help someone overcome the shock of being diagnosed
- $40 can help improve treatments and find cures by funding a PhD student's laboratory costs for a day
- $57 can support patients who are too ill to drive by providing a day's transport to and from treatment
- $80 can give a regional family who've had to move closer to treatment, a place to call home for a night
For more information about the Leukaemia Foundation visit their website: http://www.leukaemia.org.au
Thank you in advance for you support...keep an eye on my profile page and watch the thermometer grow with all your donations AND check out the pics before and after!
Sally

Thank you for your support!
Now, you know how scrapping is all about photo opportunities.................... we're going to have lots!! Kerryn from KG's HairDesign has kindly offered to come along and shave Sally as bald as a badger, all for a good cause! And she will also be offering a discount on ............... hair extensions, for a strictly limited time...
Far be it for me to say that there is anyone out there with a bigger heart than Sally, but doing things for others is always something she doesn't think twice about. Scrapville supports Sally on her sponsorship journey with the World's Greatest Shave, and is looking forward to helping her seek her goals. Please consider getting on board, and if those knitters out there could think about how outrageously funny and awesome she would look in your outrageously knitted hats, (I meant warm.........) well, enough said.
